The remains of Temple of Hera
Metaponto, Matera - Italy
The Palatine Tables are the remains of the ancient Temple of Hera, the protector of boundaries. It was erected in the VI century B.C. outside of the city walls of Metaponto, a former Greek colony, near a sacred spring.
Today we can admire 16 of the 36 impressive doric columns that originally composed the two longer sides of the temple.
iGuzzini lighting project wants to summon up the ancient splendour and convey the magnificence of the original structure.
To that end, one Light Up Walk Professional was installed at the base of each column and equipped with asymmetric wall-washer optic for uniform light distribution from base to trabeation.
The uplight allows for a perfect interpretation of the surface texture and guarantees total visual confort for visitors.
