Light is technology, but at the same time culture, thoughts, emotions.
The company mission is not limited to the manufacturing of top-quality lighting fixtures: it also means to study and understand light, make the others understand it and improve the integration between light and architecture through industrial design.
To this end some of the most famous lighting designers and architects in the world have co-operated with iGuzzini starting from its earlier years: Giò Ponti, Rodolfo Bonetto, Bruno Gecchelin, Renzo Piano, Richard Rogers, Norman Foster, Gae Aulenti, Piero Castiglioni, Jean Michel Wilmotte, just to mention some of them.
To design light is not only to illuminate spaces, it also means to be aware of all the aspects that are related with the quality of lighting, both indoors and outdoors. This is the reason of the co-operation between iGuzzini and numerous investigators, doctors, sociologists and physicists from the most important European researching institutes: Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, “La Sapienza” University in Rome, Polytechnics in Milan, Central Institute for Restoration, National Research Council of Italy (CNR).
iGuzzini was established in 1958 and produces today indoor and outdoor lighting fixtures. It is the Italian leader in technical and architectural lighting and ranks amongst the leading companies in Europe.
